Although digital photography has quickly changed the way we take pictures, many of the principles of photographic technique remain. Storage and retrieval of images are much more efficient, and computer-aided photo processing has completely transformed control of the image. While enhancing photographs remains controversial, the argument is almost over, and photo manipulation is nonetheless a reality that should be explored by every serious photographer. This clinic discusses the selection of a suitable camera and software for model photography and illustrates classic techniques for lighting and exposure. Simple “Photoshop” techniques for enhancing images round out the presentation, along with a few modeling tips. A surprise presentation is planned at the end.
